***UPDATE***

Jack found his new home on Monday the 11th this week! So far he is adjusting well, and his new angel has shown true dedication to him. Thank you everyone who e-mailed. We're so excited for Mr. Jack.

Jack has been searching for a home for over a month now.
Jack was rescued from a breeder, and after much rehabilitation, he is now ready for his forever family.
He is a 2yr old black and tan chihuahua/minpin mix (short hair), and he is just over 3lbs. He is very small, but healthy (now).
Jack needs a home with out small children (he is easily excited by them, and while he loves them, he plays a little too rough to be in a home with children under 10).
He also needs a family who understands little doggies, and realizes that he needs to be taken to potty at least once every few hours. He is also still working on telling you he needs to go (right now he sniffs, instead of whimpering - this is because he uses a doggy door at our home, and doesn't understand how to tell you that he needs to be let outside) - but as long as he is taken out every few hours, he will not have accidents.
Jack is very protective, and he will bark at any stranger who comes near the home. He has never bitten or attacked in any way, but he will hide and bark until the stranger is either seated, or has left the property.
Finally, he is not neutered, as he was always to small to have the procedure done. He needs to go to a family who will either have him fixed promptly, or who will sign a no-breeding contract.
Jack loves to sit with you - all the time. He likes to have little meaty treats of goodness. He loves blankets and likes to bury crunchy things. He loves a good chew toy, and he likes to wear little jackets (he likes to be a people). Jack also thinks he is a cat, and would get along swimmingly with a feline (permitted the kitty doesn't mind playing tag). Jack also likes other dogs, but until he is fixed, should not be paired with un-neutered dogs (and he may have -playful- behavior toward any dog, despite the other dog's chosen lifestyle....). He also loves to sleep with you and give you kisses and take you for walks.
If you have room in your adult-only home for a special little guy with a big attitude and a lot of love, please contact us. He's waiting for his forever home.

***UPDATE - We've had a couple people ask how much his adoption fee is. We do not have a set fee - we are requesting a small donation to go toward care for another foster animal in our home at this time, who will not be ready for her forever home for another few months. However, we are very, very picky about the home that Jack goes to - so understand that offering a "larger" donation does NOT improve your likelihood of adopting him. We want him to have the right family.

Hello,
Please update your message to identify what city your animal is located in. It will help place him more quickly.

I suppose that would help. Jack is currently residing just north of Gresham. We are willing to travel with him up to 20mi from our home.
